Following our Crowdfunder and your very kind donations, we have recently taken delivery of a brand new set of exam desks and would like to thank you all for contributing towards them.

These new desks replace our old stock much of which was getting on for 30 years old and were exhausted! The new desks will make a significant positive difference to the conditions for our students when they sit exams.

As well as raising nearly £2,000 via a Crowdfunder campaign, we received £1,000 from our PTA as well as many significant contributions from staff and parents. North Yorkshire Council also contributed with donations of £1,000 and £400 from the Locality Budgets of Councillors Richard Foster and Simon Myers.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed – there is simply no way that we could have updated our desks without your help. Ian Chapman, Headteacher, said the following:

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by our families, staff, local councillors and community supporters. These new exam desks will make a real difference to our students’ experience and wellbeing during examinations. Your support has helped us create the very best environment for them to succeed, and we couldn’t be more thankful.”

“Oddly, I am now quite looking forward to exam season with our new desks!” says Stuart Willis, Exams & Data Manager.
