On Thursday 18 November 2021 we held our annual Presentation Evening. It was a wonderful evening of celebration held at Grassington Devonshire Institute.

The students who achieved their GSCEs in 2021 were there to collect their certificates and celebrate their accomplishments during their time at Upper Wharfedale School. Current students were also nominated for awards and were in attendance to celebrate their successes.

Awards were presented for outstanding achievement and dedication in all curriculum areas, as well Citizenship and Reading Special Awards. Our Headteacher, Mr Taylor, ended the presentations with the Student Leadership and Overcoming Adversity awards, followed by four past students receiving the Headteacher’s Award for Outstanding Progress.

Head Student, James Neill, did a fantastic job of hosting the evening and year 11 student, Tyler White performed two amazing songs for the audience.

The Chair of Governors was in attendance and amused the audience with his address, thanking the staff and commending the students for their achievements.

We were lucky enough to have Julie Dodgson from Crossgates Health, Hair and Beauty as our guest speaker. Julie inspired our audience with her story, as she is an ex-student who has grown a successful business.
