On Tuesday 7th February year 8 student Lucinda took part in The Rotary Young Chef of the Year competition for the Skipton area.

She produced a Turkish inspired menu of 

Starter – a trio of houmous – chickpea, beetroot and carrot served with crispy chickpeas and flatbread.

Main course – Chicken Shawarma with Turkish style couscous and garlic mayo.

Dessert – Turkish baked rice pudding with pistachios and raspberry coulis.

Lucinda was the youngest chef there on the evening but was voted the winner by the judging panel. She will now go on to represent the area in the North Yorkshire round.
